R.W.M. Brother Tom Wood 1998-2000

Following the prayer, the R.W.M. then called upon the Bro. Secretary to deposit within the cavity of the Stone , coins of this year of grace 2000. The Stone was then lowered into place as the assembled gathering sang two verses of Psalm 100" All people that on Earth do dwell" The W.J.W. then proved that the Stone was Plumb, the W.S.W. that it was Level, the Substitute Master that it was Square and finally the R.W.M. completed the work by 3 Knocks with the Mallet. The elements of Consecration were then presented to the R.W.M. firstly the scattering of Corn a token of the Divine Goodness exhibited

in the liberal provision made for all our wants, Spiritual and Temporal. Wine was next poured upon the Stone as a symbol of Strength and Gladness and finally Oil as an Emblem of Joy and Peace.

The Brother Chaplain once again offered prayer followed by the singing of three verses of Paraphrase 2, "O God of Bethel, by whose hand" The Ceremonial was then concluded by singing The National Anthem. R.W.M Bro. Thomas Wood then addressed all assembled, "This morning a great honour has been bestowed on the Mother Lodge by the people of Kilwinning, in allowing us to carry out this ancient ceremony. Although the Mother Lodge and the town of Kilwinning are greatly revered within the Masonic World, it is indeed a great honour to be acknowledged by your own community. The last time this ceremony was undertaken in the town was on Saturday 17th September 1893, when the Foundation Stone was laid for our Lodge building almost 107 years ago by the R.W.M. and as such the P.G.M. of Ayrshire Bro.
